ShelfPod

Terms of Use

Effective date: August 8, 2026

These Terms of Use govern your use of ShelfPod, an iOS app developed by Ruizhi Wu for connecting to podcasts and audiobooks on an Audiobookshelf server that you choose. By using ShelfPod, you agree to these Terms and to Apple's applicable App Store terms.

The App and Your Server

ShelfPod is an independent third-party client. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Audiobookshelf. ShelfPod does not operate your server, host your media, manage your account, or control the availability of content. You are responsible for the server, account, network connection, backups, and permissions you use with the app.

You may use ShelfPod only with content that you are authorized to access and play. You are responsible for complying with applicable law and with the rules set by the owner or administrator of your Audiobookshelf server.

License

Subject to these Terms and Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, you receive a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use ShelfPod on Apple devices that you own or control. You may not use ShelfPod to bypass access controls, interfere with a server or network, infringe another person's rights, or reverse engineer the app except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits it.

Paid Features

ShelfPod may offer paid features through Apple in-app purchase, including a monthly subscription and a permanent unlock. The feature description, price, currency, and any introductory offer shown in Apple's purchase sheet at the time of purchase control the transaction.

Monthly Subscription

A monthly subscription provides access to ShelfPod's paid features while the subscription remains active. It renews automatically unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current subscription period. Your Apple Account may be charged for renewal during the 24 hours before the current period ends. You can manage or cancel the subscription in your Apple Account settings. Any trial or introductory offer is governed by the terms shown by Apple when you start it.

Permanent Unlock

The permanent unlock is a non-consumable in-app purchase that unlocks ShelfPod's current and future paid features on supported versions of the app for the Apple Account used to make the purchase, subject to Apple's rules and the continued availability of the app. It does not include your Audiobookshelf server, media, hosting, or any separate third-party service.

Billing, Cancellations, and Refunds

Apple processes payment, billing, taxes, subscription renewals, cancellations, and refunds. ShelfPod cannot cancel an Apple subscription or issue an App Store refund directly. Use your Apple Account settings to manage a subscription or Apple's refund and purchase support process for a billing question.

Availability and Changes

ShelfPod depends on iOS, Apple services, your network, and the Audiobookshelf server version and permissions. Features may be unavailable during maintenance, outages, device restrictions, or changes made by a server operator or third-party content host. Ruizhi Wu may improve, change, or retire app features and may release updates that are needed for continued compatibility. No specific server, media item, or feature is guaranteed to work in every environment.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to use ShelfPod to access content unlawfully, share credentials without authorization, circumvent a server's licensing or access controls, distribute content in violation of another person's rights, send malicious traffic, or interfere with the operation of any server, network, or Apple service. You must keep your account credentials secure and promptly stop using a server if its owner revokes your access.

Disclaimer

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ShelfPod is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, availability, and non-infringement. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot lawfully be limited.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ruizhi Wu will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, content, profits, goodwill, or access, arising from or related to ShelfPod or your server. The limitations in this section apply regardless of the theory of liability and even if the possibility of the loss was known.

Apple's Terms

These Terms supplement Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, Apple Media Services Terms, and applicable App Store rules. Apple is not responsible for maintaining or supporting ShelfPod, and Apple has no obligation to provide support or warranty services for the app. If these Terms conflict with a mandatory Apple term, that Apple term controls to the extent required.

Changes to These Terms

These Terms may be updated as ShelfPod changes. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. If you have a question about these Terms, contact az.convict@hotmail.com or use Support.
